Can a map help us find each other?
It's easy to walk past a gallery without knowing what's inside. A small show, an artist's open studio, a café where you might stay a little longer. We want to make those places easier to find.
At CFH, we're using AI to help design and build MapForHuman. We're starting with a practical question: can a useful neighborhood map give people a reason to go out, explore and spend time together?
An evening of art in Pioneer Square
Our first community demo follows the galleries and studios around Seattle's Pioneer Square. First Thursday Art Walk gives us a real occasion to build around: people opening their doors, showing their work and welcoming someone new.
You can try the directory now:
- Find a gallery, studio or public arts space on the map.
- Look through past and upcoming event listings, with links to their sources.
- Save a few places and connect them with a walking route.
- Explore how a local business could introduce itself through a clearly labeled map placement.
Pick a couple of stops. Invite a friend. Leave a little time for the place you didn't plan to visit.
What we’re trying to learn
AI helps us with the software. We check venue-owned sources for the demo. The next step is to listen to local people and learn from visitors, so we can decide what deserves a place in it.
This is an experiment we're putting into people's hands. We'd like to learn whether it makes local discovery easier, what gets in the way and whether it gives businesses something useful. We'll share what works and what needs more care as we go.

We've proposed a focused Pioneer Square pilot with a published budget, milestones and room for local business sponsors. Today's pledges are expressions of interest only. No money or card details are collected.
